The certification body PM-ZERT adheres to the international standard set by IPMA® International Project Management Association for personal certifications in project management. As the neutral and independent certification body of the GPM Deutsche Gesellschaft für Projektmanagement e. V., it offers various certification options for project managers. Depending on your level of experience, you can obtain certification at one of several levels. These range from entry-level project management certifications — the Basic Certificate and Level D — to certifications designed for experienced project managers in senior leadership positions. Professionals with extensive experience in managing programs or portfolios will also find the appropriate certification here. After successfully completing an IPMA Level certification, digital badges are made available to you.

The certifications offered by PM-ZERT are based on the Individual Competence Baseline, or ICB®, the competence standard of the International Project Management Association (IPMA®).
The currently valid version of the standard, ICB 4, was published in September 2015 and has been in use in Germany since February 2018.
The ICB is a globally standardized competence framework used by all IPMA member associations and certification bodies to ensure consistent certification of project management competencies. Since 1997, this standard has formed the basis for the worldwide certification of project managers and is internationally recognized.
