Certification Commercial Project Management

Planning projects, calculating costs, negotiating contracts, reviewing invoices - all while keeping an eye on the big picture: If you have already successfully completed the VDMA Certificate Course Commercial Project Management with our partner, VDMA Academy, including a final written exam, the next step toward certification as a Commercial Project Manager GPM© is open to you. The "Certified Commercial Project Manager (GPM®)" qualification assesses and confirms professional competence in the commercial, financial, contractual, and legal management of complex projects. Based on the standard for Commercial Project Management developed by GPM, the certification attests to the ability to manage non-technical project aspects within the industrial, engineering, and plant construction sectors.

Further information

you have participated at the VDMA Certificate Course Commercial Project Manager offered by the VDMA Academy, and
you have successfully passed the written examination conducted by the VDMA Academy.

The written examination is not administered by PM-ZERT. It is conducted in accordance with the applicable regulations of the VDMA Academy. Passing the written examination is a mandatory prerequisite for participation in the assessment.

Note: registration does not guarantee that the certification will be conducted at a particular time or location, nor if the required minimum number of participants is not met.

Registration is carried out informally by email to pm-zert@gpm-ipma.de. The following information is required:

Title, first name, and last name
Date of birth
Postal address for certificate delivery
Email address of the candidat

The following documents must be uploaded no later than four weeks before the assessment date. PM-ZERT will then review the admission documents:

Legal declaration
CPM-specific legal declaration

The certification consists of an assessment centre with multiple participants followed by a final in-person interview. The assessment centre takes place only after passing the written VDMA Academy examination. While the overall certification process is completed within one day, the assessment itself lasts approximately four hours.

Following the assessment, the assessors submit the examination results to PM-ZERT within two weeks. PM-ZERT issues and sends the certificate within six weeks of receiving the assessment results.

The certificate is awarded if:

the written VDMA Academy examination has been passed, and
the assessment has been successfully completed.

Certification fee:

1.395,00€ for GPM members
1.550,00€ for non GPM members

Note: Please be aware that your registration for the "VDMA Certificate Course Commercial Project Management" must be completed separately and directly with the VDMA Academy.
